Primary Arms is an American company that is constantly gaining in popularity for two major reasons – offering products of high quality at an affordable price and implementing their own, custom reticles in their optical devices. One of the most popular reticles is ACSS with holdovers for bullet drop, designed for CQB.
In 2019, Primary Arms decided to divide their optics in four tiers, Classic (CLx), Silver (SLx), Gold (GLx), and Platinum (PLx). They chose to do this because their customers had difficulties determining which riflescope belongs to which price class. Primary Arms’ products are now much more organized, which makes work easier for both customers and retailers.
‘Silver’ is Primary Arms’ mid-range series of optics, the core of their line-up. As regards price, it is positioned above ‘Classic’ and below the ‘Gold’ series. In this series, Primary Arms has riflescopes, prism scopes and magnifiers available. Riflescopes are of the SFP and FFP type, and there are various lens diameters at disposal. The optics in this tier are priced from 250 € to 600 €. All of them are manufactured in China. They are backed by Primary Arms’ lifetime warranty. Most of the riflescopes in this series can be purchased with Primary Arms’ famous ACSS reticle.
Primary Arms SLX6 3-18x50 FFP is one of the riflescopes from the Silver series. It has been designed for long range tactical shooting, allowing shooters to shoot as far as the 1,000-yard mark. It offers 6x zoom with 3x minimal magnification.
It has an aluminum black matte one-piece housing. The alloy used is anodized aluminum 6061. The main tube diameter is 30 mm, there is no mounting rail underneath it.
This is a first plane riflescope (FFP), meaning that the reticle size changes with magnification because the reticle is in the front of magnification lenses. This allows it to be true at every magnification. The reticle is illuminated and has 6 intensity levels. There is an off switch between each illumination level. The battery used is CR2032.
There are 6 different reticles to choose from:
Reticles that include horseshoe and chevron have illumination limited to these two parts.
The riflescope features exposed tactical turrets with a Zero-lock mechanism. The turrets are of high quality which is very rare in this price range. The parallax can be set anywhere between 10 yards and infinity. The clicks on the riflescope are in milliradians (1 click = 0.1 MIL) or MOA (1 click = ¼ MOA) and it has a true MIL/MIL (or MOA/MOA) configuration. The Fin on the power ring, which acts as a small throw lever, allows for rapid focus adjustment and smooth movement through the magnification range, making the adjustment of the magnification easier.
The riflescope comes with objective and eyepiece flip-up covers. The covers are made of plastic and can be removed.
The product comes with 10 years of warranty. You can read more about the warranty policy here.
