The smallest model within the New Apex series, these 8x24 binoculars weigh just 220 g and will easily fit into the palm of your hands or in your jacket pocket when not in use. This very compact size is made possible by the excellent double hinge design and the small 24 mm lenses.
The downside to this is like the small windows in your house, they let in less light than larger ones and thus these binoculars are best used in reasonably good light conditions during the day.
The 8x magnification is ideal at short to mid-distance ranges and helps to deliver a wide field of view that in turn makes it much easier for you to quickly locate and then follow all the action at these closer distances. Note that the minimum focus distance of 5 meters is relatively long and thus these binoculars may not be the ideal choice for the extreme close-up observation of things like butterflies or paintings at a gallery for examples.
The 12mm of eye relief is reasonably good for such a small compact binocular and combined with the adjustable eyecups should be fine for most users. However should you need to wear eyeglasses, we usually recommend a minimum of 16mm and thus these may not be suitable for you. As an alternative, take a look at the models in the Vixen Atrek Series.
As well as a number of other benefits, the double hinge design also allows for the wide interpupillary distance range of between 35mm and 70mm and thus these binoculars are suitable for children and those with particularly close-set eyes.
