The powerful 10x magnification and small size make these a great option for the hiker, wildlife observer or hunter exploring wide open spaces where the distances to your subjects are often at medium to long ranges. These also make perfect travel and safari binoculars as they are easy to pack away and then carry when out in the field, even if you also have a camera.
Note that the 10x magnification and the 28 mm lenses combine to produce a 2.8mm exit pupil. This is relatively small and thus indicates that these Vixen binoculars are best used during the daytime in good to fair light conditions.
As well as enabling them to fold down to a tiny size, the double hinge body design also facilitates the very wide 35mm to 70mm interpupillary distance range and thus makes these a good choice for older children or those with notably close-set eyes.
At 12mm, the amount of eye relief should be fine for most users, however for eyeglass wearers, this may not be sufficient to ensure that you are able to view the entire field of view with your glasses on. As an alternative, take a look at the models in the Vixen Atrek Series.
