The Foresta 10x42 is an excellent general use binocular and is particularly strong if your birding, nature or wildlife observation generally occurs over medium to longer distances and often out in the open like grassy fields, in the hills or at the coast where the available light is also generally good.
Whilst not as wide as the 8x42 Foresta, for an instrument with a 10x magnification, these Vixen binoculars also have a reasonably wide view, which certainly makes it easier to locate items of interest when scanning large areas.
Whilst the 10x magnification is perfectly fine for use from the hands, for the steadiest possible views, these binoculars have a socket located on the front of the central hinge which will accept a standard tripod adapter (not included).
The 20mm of eye-relief is excellent, especially when you consider the powerful 10x magnification and thus makes this Vixen Foresta an ideal choice for those who wear glasses.
Designed for long distance observation, the minimum close focus distance on these is understandably not a strength and thus not a good option should you also need your binocular to perform at a very close range.
