I always want to practice some ELR shooting . My .308 Win Tikka is a very nice rifle with a Hawke 8-32x50 Sidewinder which works great , but over 1200m I was looking for something bigger . So I bought a Savage in .338 Lapua and decided to put the Hawke 10-50x60 Sidewinder on top . Until now both rifles work fine with the Sidewinders and I LOVE the reticles . If there is a beginner on the range who is willing to make few shots I always let them try and they are all surprised how easy it is to shoot a tight group with them .
If you want to enter Long Range shooting and your budget is (like mine) limited , I can recomend these combinations !
I saw other people with weapons and scope combinations for 3-6 times the price of mine but only the very experienced shooters were able to make better hits and I am still at the beginning , so I try to come closer soon !
Some smile when they find out that my combination is much cheaper but after shooting they are shocked if they see the result !
Only the elevation of this scope is a bit low , in the description its 13MRAD , however I tested mine and it was 14,5MRAD , 2Clicks left UP and Down .
So I use a EraTac mount with 10-70MOA . So on a magnification of 50x with the 20MOA base mount of my rifle and 70MOA of the ET mount I could use the scope to shoot 2500m with my ammo , which is much further than I will ever be able to
