Bresser Topas 12x32

Compact and powerful, the Bresser Topas 12x32 binoculars are a low-cost solution for the casual observer on a tight budget and looking for an easy to pack and carry binocular that will get you closer to the action at longer distances. Ideal applications include hiking trips at the coast, in the hills or long distance target spot on the range.

For a low-cost instrument, it is impressive that these are built around a metal chassis and not a plastic one like many similar devices within this price range. Strategically placed rubber armoring helps improve grip and these binoculars also feature folding rubber eyecups and a right eye diopter adjuster.

Whilst the high power is able to bring you greater image detail at long range, just be aware that it also makes it more difficult to keep the view still and shake free than binoculars with lower magnifications. It is for this reason, these are not recommended for use on a moving platform like a boat and if you don’t have steady hands.

The mid-sized 32 mm lenses help keep the size of the instrument down, however, it also means that they capture less light than larger lenses. This in combination with the high 12x power produces a relatively small 2.6 mm exit pupil which tells us that this binocular is best used in fair to good light conditions in order for you to perceive a bright image.
