As well as the addition of field flattener lenses, a big improvement on these over the standard Atrek HR 8x32 binoculars is the big increase in the field of view. At 131 meters in width at 1000 meters, the view is on these is exceptionally wide and really makes a big difference when trying to quickly locate and then track small, fast moving birds in a nearby tree or bush.
The 32 mm lenses make a good compromise between light gathering ability and the resulting body size and weight of the binocular. So whilst these may not be as easy to carry as a full compact, they will produce a brighter image and perform better in low light.
This these binoculars are ideal for the birdwatcher or nature lover wanting a reasonably easy to carry and pack binocular that won't let them down when conditions stray from the ideal.
These Atrek II binoculars from Vixen also have an exceptionally good minimum focus distance and thus also a good option should you also like to view things like butterflies or even birds on a nearby bird feeder.
Eye relief on these binoculars is for the non-eyeglass wearer. However, should you need to wear glasses when using your binoculars then a better option may be the standard Vixen Atrek HR 8x32 binocular that has an excellent 18 mm.
