Steiner Navigator Pro 7x50

The Steiner Navigator Pro 7x50 is the ideal marine binocular for the recreational user needing a tough, reliable instrument that has an excellent low light performance and won't let you down even under the very worst conditions that you can expect to find when out on the water.

The 7x50 configuration offers a number of benefits to the marine user. Firstly the large 50mm lenses are able to capture more light than instruments using smaller lenses. This in combination with the 7x magnification produces a very wide 7.1 mm exit pupil that ensures you are always supplied with more than enough light and so able to view the brightest images even in very low light and fog when the pupils in your eyes are fully dilated.

The magnification is a moderate 7x for a number of reasons that make it ideal for marine uses. Most importantly is that a lower power means you get far less image shake and thus makes it much easier to get a better view on rough or even choppy waters than when using more powerful instruments.

Lower powers also help produce a wider field of view. At 123 meters wide at 1000 meters, the field of view on these is good and makes it far easier for you to locate your subject when searching wide open stretches of water.

As you would expect on any quality marine binocular, these Steiner Navigator Pro’s are fully waterproof. Added to this Steiner have replaced all the air inside the housing with the completely moistureless nitrogen gas. Kept under pressure it ensures that the internal optics will not fog up even in the worst weather conditions.

The optics are protected by a housing made from the super durable Makrolon polycarbonate housing and the exterior is covered with an NBR Long Life rubber armouring that Steiner uses on their top of the range Commander series and which provides a high level of grip when wet.

Steiner’s Sports-Auto Focus System means that once you have set up the eyepieces to match your particular vision, no further focusing is required as everything from 20 yards to infinity will remain in focus. This not only makes it quicker to locate your subject, but it allows you to use these relatively large optics with just a single hand.
