Tasco Essentials 10x25

This pocket-sized instrument with its fairly powerful 10x magnification is a very inexpensive binocular that you can take anywhere or simply keep in your bag or car for those unexpected moments when you simply need to get a better view of something in the distance.

Other ideal uses include the hiker, backpacker or budget traveler looking for a very small and low cost binocular that they do not have to be too precious about.

The use of compact roof prisms and small 25mm lenses keep its overall body size to a minimum, but it is the ingenious double hinge design that enables the Tasco Essentials 10x25 binoculars to fold up into a true pocket sized instrument for ease of storage and carrying when not in use.

Made in China, these Tasco binoculars feature multi-coated optics (not fully multi-coated) which in combination with the small objective lenses and an exit pupil that is only 2.5mm wide, means the 10x25 Essentials are best used in good light conditions during daylight hours.

The 10x magnification and field of view that is 96m wide at a distance of 1000m also suggests that this instrument will work best in wide open spaces like along the coast, in the hills or mountains where distances to subjects like wildlife, eagles or seabirds is generally greater than what you would normally encounter in a forest or your back garden for example. 

Note that with a minimum close focus distance of 9 meters, the 10x25 Tasco Essentials binocular is not recommended for as an instrument to take to the museum or for the close-up observation of things like butterflies or flowers.
