Docter Unipoint 2.5-10x50 Z rifle scope is the mid-range scope from the Unipoint series that is meant primarily for hunting in the mountains, stalking and raised still hunt at dusk or dawn. This scope is smaller and lighter (also less expensive) than the top of the line model Docter Unipoint 3-12x56 rifle scope but still its low light capabilities are more than exceptional for this price class. Docter Unipoint 2.5-10x50 Z has a very sophisticated but easy to use Unipoint illumnated reticle system which offers illumination intensities ranging from dim low light setting to very bright day time usable powers. Illumination system on Docter Unipoint is controlled with a button Docter calls Tipcontrol. With a push of the buttons intensity can be continuously adjust to the appropriate level for any kind of light conditions. You can see a VIDEO review of the system here. The intensity power increases gradually so that over illumination is prevented even at the dimmest light conditions, however at maximum power the illuminated dot is bright enough for the normal day use.

The reticle in Docter Unipoint 2.5-10x50 Z is designed so that the reticle bars are in the first focal plane - FFP and illuminated dot in second focal plane - SFP. FFP-SFP reticle is perfect for close range shots when rapid target acquisition is needed and at the same time with a really small at high magnifications it offers great accurate at long range shots.
