Docter Basic 3-12x56 rifle scope

Description of Docter Basic 3-12x56 rifle scope

Hunting at dusk, dawn or even during the night, when the moon is the only source of light become very common in last couple of years and Docter Basic 3-12x56 rifle scope is meant just for that kind of hunting. It has an extremely high light transmission rate (Docter Multitop coating on all lens surfaces) for this price class. Measured light transmission rate for visible light can be seen on the picture bellow and really stands out from other similar competitors.

Illuminated dot in the reticle is also designed for best performance in low light situations. The illuminated dot in located in the scopes second focal plane – SFP and thus covers minimal part of the target at high magnifications. The reticle bars however are placed in front focal plane – FFP and get thicker on higher magnification and this way also more suitable for aiming at dusk or dawn. Illumination intensity is controlled withDocter Shiftcontrol and can be set very dim for low light use or to power levels bright enough even for day time visibility. The system automatically turns off after 3 hours so that the battery life is always preserved and it has memory function that returns it back to the last used intensity on the next turn on. Illumination intensity grows gradually so that the hunter can always set the correct power and reticle is never over or under illuminated. Graph bellow shows how intensity is gradually rising with the turn on the button. VIDEO review of illumination system.
