The large 42 mm lenses on these Vixen Foresta binoculars as well as their good quality optical glass and anti-reflection coatings help ensure that you are presented with a bright, high-resolution image even when the light begins to fade.
The 8x power will provide you with a detailed image from short to mid-range distances whilst at the same time it maintains a wide field of view. This combination makes this a great general use instrument and in particular, an especially good birding binocular which will excel in areas like woodlands or forests where available light can be less than ideal and observation distance not too great.
A real strength on these binoculars is the ample 21mm of eye-relief. This in unison with the twist-up eyecups means that you can accurately position your eyes correctly behind the ocular lenses even if you wear glasses.
At 5 meters, the minimum focus distance on these binoculars is relatively long and thus makes them not an ideal option if you often observe objects from very close range.
