With their very compact and lightweight body, the Vixen Atrek HR 8x25 DCF is an ideal optical companion on a hiking or travel adventure.
Whilst the small objective lenses mean that these are best used during the day and in reasonably good light conditions, the moderate 8x magnification and the resultant fairly wide field of view make this a good choice as a compact birding and general wildlife observation binocular.
With a minimum close focus distance of only 1 meter, these binoculars are not only ideal for the close study of things like flowers, butterflies and other insects outdoors, but their small size makes them a great choice to pop into your bag and take to the museum or art gallery.
What is more, the 18mm of eye relief is excellent, especially for a compact binocular. This combined with their twist-up eyecups means that even whilst wearing glasses, you will be able to adjust them to ensure that you are able to view the full image without black rings forming on the edges.
