This higher specification Atrek II 8x25 compact binocular not only boasts field flattener lenses but they are made in Japan and have a wider field of view than the standard Atrek 8x25 model.
This wide field of view helps in many ways but is especially important to users like birders and some wildlife observers operating at a reasonably close range as it makes it easier to quickly locate and then follow fast moving birds and animals.
Their compact shape and low weight also allow this binocular to be easily packed away in your daypack and take along to most sporting events where once again the wide view helps you follow all the on-field action without having to pan the view about.
The good minimum focal distance greatly adds to the flexibility of this binocular in that they can also be effective as a butterfly binocular and an instrument for taking to the museum or art gallery.
With good quality twist-up eyecups and 15mm of eye relief, they are perfectly comfortable and adaptable for the average user. However, should you need to wear eyeglasses, this may be a little short to guarantee a full field of view. If this is a concern, perhaps consider the standard Atrek 8x25 version instead as it has an impressive 18mm of eye relief.
